National Unity Day 2025: CM Dhami Honors Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

Uttarakhand CM Dhami pays tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 150th birth anniversary, inspiring a united and Viksit Bharat.

National Unity Day, Uttarakhand CM Dhami  honored Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the nation’s first Home Minister, on the occasion of his 150th birthday.

Chief Minister Dhami paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in a post on X, stating that his unwavering will and patriotic vision will continue to inspire the creation of a “Viksit Bharat.”

I extend millions of greetings on the birth anniversary of the “Bharat Ratna” Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel ji, who united many princely kingdoms into one and cleared the path for the establishment of an independent India. CM Dhami said on X, “Your patriotic vision and unwavering resolve will continue to inspire us ceaselessly towards building a Viksit Bharat.”

On October 31, 1875, Sardar Patel was born in Nandia, Gujarat. He was also referred to as the “Iron Man of India” and served as the country’s first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. He is well known for having played a crucial part in the post-independence merger of the Indian Union and more than 560 princely states. During the most difficult period, his leadership made sure that India came out as a united and respectable nation.

Every year on October 31, the anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth, National Unity Day is observed.

On Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented him with flowers at the Statue of Unity in Nandi, Gujarat, earlier today.

The prime minister paid heartfelt respect to Sardar Patel and recalled the statesman with bowed hands.

He took part in the Statue of Unity’s Rashtriya Ekta Diwas procession. Under the direction of the prime minister, the women’s staff led the procession. The Gujarat cadre’s IPS Simran Bhardwaj presided over the oath-taking procession ceremony.

On Sardar Patel’s 150th birthday, PM Modi took the oath of office in front of thousands of participants.

“I sincerely pledge that I will commit myself to upholding the country’s integrity, unity, and security. Additionally, I will do all in my power to share this message with my fellow citizens. I take this pledge in the spirit of my nation’s unity, which Sardar Vallabhbhai’s vision and diligence made possible.
