Bihar Election 2025: Gya nesh Kumar, the Chief Election Commissioner, praised the electorate earlier on Sunday for being instrumental in the success of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process and urged them to celebrate the polls, much like Chhath did.
The much-anticipated Bihar election polling dates will be announced by the Election Commission today at 4 p.m. Following requests from the majority of political parties to hold the polls in one or two rounds, the Bihar election is now scheduled to take place in fewer phases. In addition, it is anticipated that the election will take place shortly after the Chhath festival in order to guarantee the highest possible voter turnout. Gyanesh Kumar, the chief election commissioner, praised the electorate earlier on Sunday for helping to make the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process a success and urged them to enjoy the polling process in the same way as Chhath did.

The election will take place before November 22, according to CEC Gyanesh Kumar, who also said that the poll commission is making every effort to guarantee a free and fair election. “We congratulate India’s voters. I want to thank everyone for making the SIR process a success. I urge every Bihar voter to celebrate this democratic holiday with the same fervor that you do Chhath. Everyone ought to cast a ballot and be sure to do so,” Kumar said.
Ahead of the polls, the Election Commission met with the major political parties on Saturday to get their input. The EC referred to the political parties as “the foundation of democracy” during the conversation and encouraged their active involvement in all aspects of the election process, including the selection of polling and counting officials.
Political party representatives expressed gratitude to the EC for the successful completion of the electoral rolls’ Special Intensive Revision (SIR). The final Bihar voter list was made public by the Election Commission on September 30. 7.42 crore voters were determined to be eligible to vote in the next elections after the Bihar SIR exercise was concluded.
