New Delhi, July 28:
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, speaking in Parliament today, stated that India’s air-defence infrastructure — including the S‑400 missile system, Akashteer AI-driven C4ISR, and multiple air-defence gun systems — operated with exceptional efficiency during Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April Pahalgam terror attack.

Speaking to both Houses, Singh emphasized that India’s air defense system eliminated aerial threats by stopping Pakistani drones and missile attacks that were aimed at strategic sites without causing harm to civilians or collateral damage. He praised the Akashteer system’s flawless coordination with the Integrated Air Command and Control System (IACCS) and naval sensors, highlighting its 100% kill rate against loitering munitions and low-flying drones.

Singh praised Operation Sindoor as a prime example of modern aerial warfare. It destroyed nine terror camps in just 22 minutes and eliminated over 100 terrorists while avoiding unintended targets. The operation helped deter Pakistan’s retaliatory drones and missiles. This success was largely due to technologies like the S-400, SAMAR, and ground-based air defense guns such as the L-70, Zu-23, and Schilka.

Rajnath Singh rejected opposition claims that external pressure ended the operation. He explained that India stopped operations only after achieving all political and military goals. He stressed that logistics, quick decision-making, and careful strategy were essential for success, noting that “guns don’t win wars anymore.”

He also welcomed the growing global interest in India’s defense capabilities. The success of homegrown systems during the operation, particularly through the Make-in-India initiative, is attracting export inquiries and strengthening India’s position as a reliable defense supplier.
