PM Modi Urges Pakistani Youth to Rise Against Terrorism

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, marking the 11th anniversary of his first swearing-in in 2014, issued a stark message to the people of Pakistan: reject terrorism or face the consequences. Speaking during a public rally in Bhuj, Gujarat, Modi accused the Pakistani state and army of nurturing terrorism and called upon Pakistani citizens to reclaim their country from the grip of extremist ideologies.

The address came during his two-day visit to his home state, where Modi inaugurated infrastructure projects worth over ₹82,950 crore and celebrated India’s rapid development, contrasting it with Pakistan’s struggles.

“Terrorism Is Their Business Model”: Modi’s Message to Islamabad

Modi’s comments were a direct follow-up to Operation Sindoor, India’s military response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed 26 civilian lives. Emphasizing India’s right to self-defense, Modi said, “Terrorism has become a business model for your [Pakistan’s] government and army. The people of Pakistan must decide: do they want bullets or bread?”

He stated that Pakistan treats terrorism as tourism, adding that while India believes in peace and tourism, its neighbour exports terror. “The youth of Pakistan need to rise. You’ve lost generations to this. Terrorism has ruined your country and will destroy your future,” Modi declared.

Operation Sindoor: Precision Strikes, Global Message

Describing Operation Sindoor as more than a military strike, Modi said it embodied India’s values and resolve. On May 7, Indian armed forces launched pre-dawn airstrikes targeting nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, killing at least 100 terrorists.

The retaliatory action followed two weeks of strategic waiting. “After April 22, I waited 15 days for Pakistan to act against the perpetrators. When they didn’t, our response was swift and decisive,” Modi said.

India’s Development: From Defence to Digital

In Dahod, the Prime Minister inaugurated India’s first 9,000 HP locomotive engine, reinforcing the country’s emergence as a global manufacturing hub. “From smartphones to metro coaches, India is exporting everything today. We’re supplying railway components to Mexico, France, Germany, and even coaches to Sri Lanka and Mozambique,” he added.

He launched ₹24,000 crore worth of projects, flagged off Vande Bharat trains in Ahmedabad and Veraval, and emphasized India’s manufacturing capabilities in railway and defence technology.

A Call for Peace, Not Enmity with People

Despite his sharp criticism of Pakistan’s institutions, Modi reiterated that India’s hostility lies not with the people of Pakistan but with its military-political establishment that fosters terrorism. “India’s fight is with terrorism, not with humanity,” he said.

In an emotional appeal, Modi reminded the audience that the shared history of the subcontinent was rooted in culture and harmony. “Let the youth take charge. Build a future where your children can live with dignity and peace,” he urged Pakistanis.

Legacy and Anniversary Reflections

May 26, 2025, marked 11 years since Modi first took oath as Prime Minister. Reflecting on his journey, he said, “In 2014, Gujarat showed faith in me. Then the whole nation did. Since then, we’ve broken barriers, taken unprecedented decisions, and lifted India onto the global stage.”

From ending coalition-era stagnation to launching bold initiatives in infrastructure, health, and manufacturing, Modi positioned his tenure as transformative. “Today, 140 crore Indians are striving to make India a developed nation,” he said.
