Political Row Intensifies Around Delhi Health Scam Amid Arrest Delay Claims by AAP Leader

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj raises serious questions over FIR, tender irregularities and delay in arrest in Delhi health scam case

by Tamanna

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has intensified its attack on the government over the alleged ₹650 crore health irregularities, with senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj raising serious questions about the ongoing investigation in the Delhi Health Scam.

During a press conference, Bharadwaj alleged that despite clear references in the ACB FIR, the main accused in the Delhi Health Scam has not yet been arrested, raising doubts over the fairness of the probe.

FIR Mentions Key Accused but No Arrest

Bharadwaj claimed that the ACB FIR dated 2 June 2026 repeatedly names Rajiv Rangila as a central figure in the case. He questioned why action has not been taken against him despite being the focal point of the Delhi Health Scam investigation.

He further alleged that the FIR clearly outlines a systematic procurement manipulation pattern, yet enforcement action remains selective.

Allegations of Tender Manipulation Network

According to Bharadwaj, multiple companies were created using different names to control the tendering process in the health department. He alleged that technical and financial conditions were designed in a way that prevented fair competition.

The Delhi Health Scam reportedly involved coordinated bidding practices where contracts were awarded at inflated prices through linked entities.

Example of Overpriced Medical Purchases

Citing specific instances, Bharadwaj said that X-ray machines worth around ₹10 lakh in the market were purchased for nearly ₹33 lakh by the government.

He stated that the Delhi Health Scam has resulted in massive financial losses to public funds due to inflated procurement rates and manipulated tender processes.

Questions on Selective Action

The AAP leader criticized the government for acting against lower-level employees while allegedly ignoring the main accused involved in the Delhi Health Scam.

He demanded accountability, questioning why enforcement agencies are not taking swift action in the case.

Demand for Immediate Arrest

Bharadwaj urged authorities to immediately arrest the main accused and ensure a fair investigation. He said the credibility of the probe depends on transparent and unbiased action in the Delhi Health Scam.

The Delhi Health Scam controversy continues to escalate in Delhi politics, with AAP demanding strict action and transparency. The party has called for an impartial investigation into the alleged irregularities in the health department procurement system.
