Xiaomi has officially started teasing its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 17 Max, ahead of its launch in China later this month. The device will join the expanding Xiaomi 17 series, which already includes the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, and Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The company has revealed the first official design of the Xiaomi 17 Max, showing a refreshed look compared to other models in the lineup. Unlike the Ultra variant’s circular camera module, the Xiaomi 17 Max features a rounded rectangular camera island. The phone will be available in black, blue, and white colour options.
The display is one of the biggest highlights of the Xiaomi 17 Max. Xiaomi has confirmed a large 6.9-inch flat screen with ultra-slim bezels. Leaks suggest the device may feature a 1.5K LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, positioning the Xiaomi 17 Max firmly in the premium flagship category.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone may also include features such as symmetrical dual stereo speakers, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a high water-resistance rating.

Camera capabilities are another major focus. The Xiaomi 17 Max is tipped to feature a 200-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL HP-series primary sensor, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom.
Battery performance could be one of the standout features of the Xiaomi 17 Max, with reports suggesting a massive 8,000mAh battery. The device may also support 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, making it one of the most powerful charging setups in its segment.
The Xiaomi 17 Max is expected to be priced above the standard Xiaomi 17 due to its larger display, upgraded camera system, and significantly bigger battery. The smartphone is set to launch in China later this month alongside other devices in the Xiaomi 17 lineup.
