Samsung has officially launched its new Samsung Certified Re-Newed programme in India, giving customers a more affordable way to buy premium Galaxy smartphones with complete company-backed assurance. The initiative is aimed at expanding access to flagship Galaxy devices while ensuring quality, reliability, and security for buyers.
Under the Samsung Certified Re-Newed programme, consumers will be able to purchase refurbished Galaxy smartphones from both premium and mid-range segments at lower prices. Samsung says the programme is designed to provide users with the same trusted Galaxy experience without paying the full cost of a brand-new device.
The company claims that every smartphone sold through the Samsung Certified Re-Newed programme goes through multiple quality checks, hardware testing, and software verification before reaching customers. Samsung is also replacing faulty components with genuine original parts to maintain performance and durability standards.

To further build customer trust, Samsung says all refurbished devices are completely reset before resale to ensure previous user data is removed. The smartphones will also ship in fresh packaging and come with the latest software version available for the device.
One of the biggest highlights of the Samsung Certified Re-Newed programme is the inclusion of a one-year manufacturer warranty, similar to what customers receive with new Galaxy smartphones. This gives buyers additional confidence while purchasing refurbished premium devices directly from the company.
“At Samsung, we are focused on expanding access to our technology while maintaining the quality and reliability that consumers expect from Galaxy devices. The Certified Re-Newed programme reflects this approach by offering a trusted pathway to premium experiences at more accessible price points,” said Sumit Walia, Vice President, Head of D2C Business & Corporate Marketing, Samsung India.
Interestingly, Apple already runs a similar certified refurbished programme globally, but it is still unavailable in India. Indian consumers currently rely mostly on third-party refurbished sellers for Apple products, where concerns around authenticity and warranty support often remain.
With the launch of the Samsung Certified Re-Newed programme, Samsung could strengthen its position in India’s growing refurbished smartphone market while offering buyers a safer and more reliable alternative.
The certified renewed Galaxy smartphones officially went on sale in India from May 6 through Samsung’s official website and the Samsung Shop app.
