Chandigarh, Punjab: Cabinet Minister Harpal Cheema recently discussed the state governmentโs efforts to strengthen Punjabโs finances. In a TV interview, he stated, โDuring previous governments, the treasury was always empty. Whenever I raised questions as an opposition leader, the answer was always that the state had no funds. After coming to power, we have worked day and night to double tax collections and implement comprehensive Punjab financial reforms.โ
