Wushu athlete Rohit Jangid meets Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma in Jaipur to discuss support and preparations for the upcoming Asian Championship

Jaipur :  Indian Wushu and Kickboxing national team athlete Rohit Jangid paid a formal courtesy visit to the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, at Raj Bhawan, Jaipur. The gathering was attended by distinguished senior athletes, sports devotees, representatives of the Governor, law enforcement officials, and political dignitaries, thereby rendering it a noteworthy occasion for the state’s sports community.

Rohit formally presented a bouquet to the Chief Minister and conveyed his sincere appreciation, highlighting that the ongoing support, acknowledgment, and athlete-centric policies implemented by the Rajasthan government have substantially facilitated the improvement of players’ performance on both national and international stages.

Regarding Rohit Jangid

Rohit Jangid was born on 5 August 1993 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, to a middle-class household. His father, Rajesh Jangid, is engaged in the trade of furniture manufacturing and distribution, while his mother, Sunita Jangid, dedicates herself to homemaking. Rohit has a younger sibling named Rahul Jangid as well as a sister. Notably, Rahul has achieved recognition as a national medalist in Wushu, thereby establishing the Jangid family as a prominent family in the field of martial arts within Rajasthan.

Rohit commenced his martial arts training at the age of 16 under the guidance of his initial coach, Rajesh Taylor, thereby establishing the groundwork for his subsequent international career. Currently, he is acknowledged as one of India’s leading Wushu and Kickboxing practitioners, renowned for his discipline, physical conditioning, and adherence to a vegetarian regimen.

Global Accomplishments of Rohit Jangid

Rohit has represented India in multiple distinguished international Wushu competitions:

• 2014 – Awarded the Bronze Medal at the 12th Hong Kong International Wushu Championship
• 2016 – Awarded the Bronze Medal at the Ninth World International Wushu Championship in Georgia
• 2018 — Gold Medal at the World Championships (WKC), Dublin, Ireland
• 2021 – Silver Medal, South Asian Wushu Championship, Nepal

These distinctions have positioned him among India’s most consistent competitors in international Wushu.

Preparation for the Asian Championship: Central Emphasis

The primary focus of the meeting was Rohit’s preparations for the forthcoming Asian Championship, among the most significant tournaments of his professional career.
