UP Govt approves 1.2 km Ram Setu bridge in Prayagraj. Construction starts 2026, to be completed by 2030 at ₹258.76 crore. DPR ready, awaiting final funding.

near the future years, a “Ram Setu” bridge will be constructed over the Yamuna River near Prayagraj in an effort to improve regional connectivity. According to the officials, the 1,200-meter-long bridge will support the city’s rich cultural heritage in addition to enhancing connectivity. They added that the project is anticipated to be finished by 2030, with bridge building probably starting in 2026. Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said earlier in November that a number of initiatives to improve connection would be unveiled in the coming months.

The officials said that the anticipated overall cost of the bridge is Rs 258.76 crore while giving specifics. They added that Rs 27 crore will be used for the land acquisition procedure, while Rs 229.75 crore will be spent on construction. They emphasized that the bridge’s construction is probably going to be finished in the upcoming four years.

According to the officials, the bridge’s construction would start next near Yamuna Bridge and finish close to Shivalaya Park. Residents will find it easy to walk because the Ram Setu will be about five meters wide. They said that in order to enhance the city’s cultural diversity, statues of gods and goddesses will also be erected 50–100 meters apart.

Shivalaya Park, Triveni Pushp, and other holy places are close to the Yamuna bank, according to Prayagraj Mayor Ganesh Kesarwani, who also mentioned that work is being done to build the bridge. The Ram Setu DPR has been prepared and made available to the Municipal Corporation, according to the project manager. He added that as soon as the funds are given, construction will start.
