World Cup star Shafali Verma honored in Rohtak by Haryana Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi; CM Saini to meet her on November 12.

Shafali Verma, the World Cup champion and star of the Indian women’s cricket team, arrived in Rohtak  to a warm reception. Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, was greeted with flower garlands and warm wishes on behalf of the Haryana Government by former Minister Manish Kumar Grover, Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta, BJP State Vice President Satish Nandal, District President Ranbir Dhaka, Mayor Ram Avatar Valmiki, former Mayor Manmohan Goyal, SDM Ashish Kumar, and Chairman of Sampla Market Committee Uday Bhan Malik.

On behalf of the government, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi honored Shafali Verma and her family in the nearby Circuit House by presenting them with a shawl and turban. He stated that Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini would personally meet with Shafali Verma on November 12 and that the state government would fully acknowledge and recognize her accomplishments. Members of Shafali Verma’s relatives attended the event as well.

By winning the World Cup, the Indian women’s cricket team has made the entire country proud, according to Sh. Bedi. In international tournaments, Haryana’s athletes have routinely placed among the top medal winners. He called Shafali Verma’s achievement a source of pride for the state and the nation, praising her for her outstanding performance at the World Cup.

“The women’s cricket team’s victory has not only motivated the younger generation, but it has also given even the elderly newfound vigor and excitement,” he remarked.

Prior to 2014, competitors were only given rewards after winning medals, according to the Minister. Even athletes who represent the nation in foreign tournaments, however, receive financial incentives from the current administration.

Cricket player Shafali Verma said that her parents’ blessings have always been her strength and dedicated her World Cup victory to them. She claimed to have played the competition with poise and diligence, according to a well-defined plan when bowling and batting. She claimed that the crew as a whole will never forget their encounter with Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi. The players were congratulated and encouraged for their historic accomplishment by the Prime Minister, who spent almost two hours with them. She exhorted young athletes to pursue their dreams in life by working hard, being focused, and being determined.
