Union Minister Manohar Lal reviews key central and state welfare schemes in Karnal, urging quick, transparent implementation for public benefit.

Sh. Manohar Lal, the Union Minister for Housing, Urban Affairs, and Power, presided over a Karnal meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee on Sunday. He gave authorities instructions during the meeting to make sure that the central and state governments’ social programs are implemented quickly and transparently. In order to guarantee that the greatest number of people can benefit from these programs and that development projects are carried out on the ground as soon as possible, the Minister assessed 22 significant programs from 11 departments.

The Union Minister requested that authorities create district-specific strategies for welfare and development projects during the discussion rather than just concentrating on hitting goals. Additionally, he gave them instructions to expand the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban and Rural) application pool so that all eligible persons might benefit from the housing program.

As he reviewed the Agriculture Department’s ATMA Scheme, he gave the Deputy Director of Agriculture instructions to encourage farmers to embrace natural farming methods and make sure they are properly trained. According to him, this would increase profitability and lower cultivation costs, enabling farmers to make more money.

Sh. Manohar Lal told reporters following the meeting that loans are given to people to start their own businesses under the PM Mudra Yojana. He underlined that in order for more people to take advantage of this program, efforts are being made to increase awareness. According to the Minister, the PM Awas Yojana (Urban & Rural) has set a national objective of 3 crore dwellings over the next five years, with 1 crore in urban areas and 2 crore in rural regions. He went on to say that the Vita Booth Scheme is a promising programme for creating jobs and will be made more simpler so that more individuals may apply and take advantage of it. Loan amounts for street sellers have been raised under the PM SVANidhi Scheme, going from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 and from ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. Furthermore, a credit card facility has been established that offers ₹50,000 in loans in addition to an additional ₹30,000 revolving fund, enabling recipients to utilize the credit repeatedly. Such small-scale initiatives significantly improve the lives of persons who are economically disadvantaged, the Minister said.
