PM Modi is set to inaugurate Ambala Cantonment’s ₹600 crore Martyrs’ Memorial in November, honoring heroes of India’s First War of Independence (1857).

Anil Vij, the cabinet member for Haryana, stated  that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is anticipated to open Asia’s largest Martyrs’ Memorial, which is being constructed in Ambala Cantonment and honors the First War of Independence of 1857, in November.

The magnificent building, known as “Azadi Ki Pehli Ladai Ka Shaheedi Samarak,” on NH-44, was constructed at a cost of ₹600 crore and spans 22 acres.

According to Vij, the memorial is nearly finished and will be unveiled during the final week of November. Vij informed the press, “We have asked the Prime Minister to inaugurate this memorial because it is so large.”

The minister claimed that during the first struggle of independence, several regiments were disbanded, people were shot and hung to trees, their heads were crushed by axes, and they were imprisoned for years.

“I battled for 20 to 25 years to expose the truth because these stories went ignored. “I asked the government to construct a Martyrs’ Memorial, and it is nearly finished,” he continued.

According to sources, on November 25, the Prime Minister is expected to travel to Kurukshetra to commemorate the martyrdom day of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, and to take part in the International Gita Mahotsav 2025, which will take place from November 15 to December 5.

This year, the festival’s primary events will take place from November 24 to December 1.

Along with a number of other state initiatives, PM Modi is also anticipated to officially open the Shaheedi Samarak of Ambala and lay the groundwork for the projected Sikh Museum in Kurukshetra. A final schedule is being prepared, though, and has not yet been released.
