Haryana CM directs officials to ensure SC & BC students get Pre-Matric & Post-Matric scholarships with easy online applications and DBT transfers.

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure that every eligible student receives benefits under the Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships schemes. The Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhawan has been tasked with coordinating with the relevant central ministries to gather information about ongoing schemes and keep state government departments regularly updated. Additionally, school and college principals have been instructed to inform students about these scholarships and ensure that their applications are submitted online

On behalf of the Backward Class (BC) and Scheduled Caste (SC) students, the Chief Minister presided over a review meeting at the Chandigarh Civil Secretariat.

According to him, the government has an obligation to make sure that no deserving or worthy student drops out of school because of financial difficulties. The officers were instructed by the chief minister to ensure that there is no carelessness in this area and that students are informed about the scholarship programs in a timely manner.

In order to ensure that students have no trouble filling out forms and completing the application procedure, he directed that information boards detailing all scholarship programs be put up in every school and institution.

Officers were instructed by the chief minister to monitor the programs on the ground and create recurring review reports that would be sent to the government. This will make it more likely that the 40 percent held by the state government will be deposited into the students’ bank accounts, while the 60 percent held by the central government will be credited to the students’ accounts directly via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

He added that in order to guarantee prompt distribution of scholarship cash, officials should apprise parents and students throughout the admissions and counseling process that if they meet the requirements for any scholarship program, they must link their bank account to Aadhaar.

The country’s youth skill development has been given particular attention by Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi in order to enable each young person to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient. The Haryana government will also work to improve the abilities of the state’s students in this regard, particularly those from the economically disadvantaged Scheduled Castes (SC) and Backward Classes (BC). The government wants to guarantee that these students not only receive high-quality education but also become employed and contribute to society in a dignified manner.

The Departments of Higher Education, Technical Education, Skill Development and Industrial Training, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Medical Education and Research, and AYUSH are all implementing scholarship programs, the Chief Minister was informed during the meeting by Sh. Vineet Garg, Additional Chief Secretary on Higher Education. Applications for scholarships must be uploaded by students via the Higher Education Department’s website. Following that, the relevant departments and colleges/universities verify the applications. After that, the state government releases 40% of its portion, while the central government transfers the remaining 60% of its share straight to students’ accounts via the National Scholarship Portal.
