PM Narendra Modi praised US President Donald Trump’s efforts to mediate peace in Gaza shortly after Hamas accepted parts of his 20-point plan.
Just hours after Hamas agreed to some of the provisions of US President Donald Trump 20-point peace proposal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Trump for his efforts to bring about peace in Gaza.
“We applaud President Trump’s leadership as the peace process in Gaza advances significantly. A big step forward has been taken with the indications of the captive release. According to a post on X, PM Modi stated, “India will continue to strongly support all efforts towards a durable and just peace.”

In his support of Trump’s Gaza peace plan earlier this week, Prime Minister Modi claimed that it offered a workable route to lasting and sustainable peace for both Israelis and Palestinians.
“We applaud the announcement of President Donald J. Trump’s all-encompassing strategy to resolve the crisis in Gaza. It offers both the Israeli and Palestinian peoples, as well as the greater West Asian region, a feasible route to long-term and sustainable peace, security, and development. We’re hoping that everyone would support President Trump’s efforts and work to put an end to the violence and ensure peace,” he wrote on X.
Trump’s peace plan for Gaza included provisions that Hamas agreed to on Friday night, including the end of the war, Israel’s withdrawal, the release of Israeli hostages and Palestinian captives, aid and recovery efforts, and opposition to the expulsion of Palestinians from the territory. This came just hours after the Republican leader had threatened to go to “all hell” if the Palestinian organization did not accept his plan by Sunday at 6 p.m. on US time.

Donald Trump stated that he thinks Hamas is prepared for a “lasting peace” and urged Israel to “immediately stop the bombing of Gaza.”
“Israel must immediately cease bombing Gaza in order to swiftly and safely free the hostages! To accomplish that now would be far too risky. The details that need to be worked out are already being discussed. “This is about the long-sought peace in the Middle East, not just about Gaza,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social.

Additionally, he uploaded a video message in which he thanked all the nations that mediated the “peace” in the Middle East.
“I want to thank the countries—Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, and many more—that helped me put this together. A lot of individuals put up a fierce fight. It’s a significant day. We shall see the outcome. It is imperative that we obtain the last word in writing. The most essential thing is that I hope the captives return to their parents. Due to their tragic circumstances, some of the captives return home to their parents since they were as much wanted by them as if the young person were still alive,” he stated.
Referring to it as a “very special day,” the Republican leader stated, “It is unprecedented.” However, I want to thank everyone and the donor nations. An enormous amount of assistance was provided to us. The desire to see peace in the Middle East and for this war to stop united everyone. We are extremely near to doing so. Everyone will receive equitable treatment, and thank you all.
