Instagram Meta AI now lets creators translate, dub, and lip-sync Reels in Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi for Indian audiences.
Instagram has released a significant update designed to use artificial intelligence to help Indian creators reach a larger audience. Reels can now be translated, dubbed, and lip-synced in multiple Indian languages thanks to the platform’s new Meta AI features. The news, which emphasized Meta’s increasing attention to the Indian creator community, was made during the “House of Instagram” event in Mumbai.
All users can now formally access the feature, which was first shown in November 2025. In addition to the existing supported languages of Hindi, English, Spanish, and Portuguese, creators can convert their reels into Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Marathi. The goal of the upgrade is to remove linguistic barriers and improve content accessibility for users in various geographical locations.
AI Translations Give Local Voices to Audiences Around the World
Instagram and Facebook users will be able to utilize Meta AI to translate videos into five more Indian languages in the upcoming months, according to Meta. The October launch that allowed creators to dub and lip sync their videos in English, Hindi, Spanish, and Portuguese is being expanded upon with this addition.
With the latest upgrade, multimedia producers will be able to modify their work to make it sound and seem multilingual. The AI tool ensures that the translated version still seems genuine and natural by maintaining the original tone and timbre of the creator’s voice. Additionally, lip-syncing is an optional feature that makes it possible for the translated audio to synchronize with mouth motions, resulting in a smooth watching experience.
Novel Fonts for Local Expression
Instagram has given Indian language users access to new creative tools in addition to AI translations. New Indian typefaces can now be used by creators in the Edits feature. Adding fashionable text and captions in Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, and Assamese is made simpler by the fonts’ compatibility for Devanagari and Bengali Assamese scripts.

In the upcoming days, Android smartphones will start to receive these fonts. Users can view the available options by opening the editing timeline, choosing “Text” from the tools tray, and then tapping the “Aa” icon. The appropriate fonts will appear automatically on devices that are already configured to use Bengali Assamese or Devanagari scripts.
A More Widespread Drive to Encourage Creators
The most recent changes are a part of a bigger set of enhancements that Instagram has made over the past month. More than 400 new sound effects, bulk caption editing, video reversal tools, and the ability to restyle images and videos in Stories using Meta AI are among recent improvements.
When taken as a whole, these capabilities demonstrate Instagram’s dedication to assisting artists in creating richer, more captivating content while reaching consumers who are not limited by language. Meta is obviously making significant investments in tools that celebrate regional variety and global reach, since India is quickly becoming one of the world’s most vibrant creator markets.
