Once again displaying his compassion and sensitivity towards persons with special needs, Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Shri Madan Dilawar on Thursday fulfilled the wish of a visually impaired couple by posting them at their desired location.
Minister Shri Madan Dilawar was holding a meeting with officials of the Panchayati Raj Department when a visually impaired couple suddenly entered the meeting to meet him. When the security personnel attempted to stop them, the minister intervened and invited the couple inside. Upon inquiry, Mr. Deepak Kumar, the visually impaired man, stated that he hails from Sri Ganganagar district.
He is currently posted as a Level-I Special Education VI (Visually Impaired) teacher in the Government Upper Primary School Jagmal Ka Tala, Gram Panchayat Mangta, Block Dhorimanna, District Barmer — which is 700 kilometers away from his home district, Sri Ganganagar. This great distance has made commuting extremely difficult for him. Moreover, his wife is also 100% visually impaired. Under such circumstances, working so far from home is a major challenge for the couple.
Taking a sympathetic approach, the Education Minister asked Mr. Deepak Kumar where he would prefer to be posted. Mr. Deepak requested to be transferred to the Government Girls’ Upper Primary School, Ashok Nagar, Sri Ganganagar — which is close to his home. Acting immediately, the Minister issued an order to post Mr. Deepak Kumar at the requested school in Ashok Nagar, Sri Ganganagar.
The Chief District Education Officer of Sri Ganganagar, who was present in the meeting, was instructed to facilitate Mr. Deepak Kumar’s posting in Sri Ganganagar and assist in the process of relieving him from his current post in Barmer.
Upon receiving the posting at their desired location, the visually impaired couple expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the education minister.
