Uttarakhand CM Dhami announces dedicated PRD training institute, daily honorarium hike to Rs 650, scholarships, and higher compensation for personnel.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced on Thursday that a dedicated ( PRD training institute ) for Provincial Armed Constabulary personnel will be established within the state.

The Chief Minister issued this statement following an inspection of a ceremonial parade held here in celebration of PRD’s Raising Day.

Dhami further stated that PRD personnel will now be regarded as on duty even if they are hospitalized for treatment while performing their duties, and they will be granted an honorarium for a maximum period of six months.

PRD personnel are actively engaged in safeguarding the state’s security, providing public services, ensuring efficient traffic management, performing administrative duties, and fulfilling various departmental responsibilities.”With patience, dedication, and unwavering determination,” the chief minister stated.

He stated that the state government has made numerous significant decisions for the welfare of PRD personnel.

He announced that the daily honorarium of Rs 65 provided to PRD personnel at the time of the state’s formation has been elevated tenfold to Rs 650 per day.

Dhami stated that scholarships are being awarded to the dependent children of PRD personnel, and that the state government has thus far extended more than Rs 70 lakh in aid to the dependents of deceased and injured personnel.

The Chief Minister also announced that a one-time service allowance of Rs 18 lakh has been granted to PRD personnel who retired after completing ten years of service. He stated that the compensation provided to families in the event of death during duty in communal disturbances has been raised from Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh, while the amount payable in the case of death of a PRD personnel during highly sensitive duty has been increased from Rs. 75,000 to Rs. 1.5 lakh.

He stated that the compensation amount in the event of mortality during regular duty has been elevated from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

At the event, Dhami also stated that in 2023, the state government began registering dependents of deceased and disabled soldiers as PRD (Provincial Reserve Defence) personnel. Among the 190 dependents registered to date, 133 have already been offered employment.
