Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami characterized social media influencers as a vital segment of society at the Uttarakhand Creators Meet-2025 in Dehradun, referring to them as “agents of change.” He stated that the function of creators in the digital age extends beyond merely producing content, as they possess the capacity to effect social change. During this event, the Chief Minister also declared that the state’s new social media policy would be implemented by the coming year.
The event was attended by content creators, digital entrepreneurs, and vloggers affiliated with various social media platforms. The Chief Minister engaged directly with numerous creators and addressed their inquiries, characterizing the event as a convergence of youthful innovation and digital vitality.
A robust connection between the government and the populace
CM Dhami stated that social media has emerged as the most influential platform for information dissemination and public engagement in contemporary times. Referring to the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated that the state administration is likewise dedicated to developing a digital Uttarakhand. Previously, there were designated office hours for complaints; however, the Chief Minister stated that a tweet or message now enables immediate hearing and resolution. Social media has functioned as an effective conduit between the government and the public.
Caution Regarding Misinformation and Harmful Content

Expressing apprehension regarding the misuse of social media, the Chief Minister urged content creators to act responsibly. He stated that certain individuals produce content that undermines the reputation of society and the state in pursuit of views and adherents. “In this pursuit of fame, moral responsibility and social duty must not be overlooked, Dhami stated.He urged the creators to verify the accuracy of any potentially misleading content prior to posting and to communicate the truth to the public.
Discussion on Progress, Corruption, and Women’s Empowerment
Throughout the programme, CM Dhami unveiled a comprehensive framework for the state’s development. He announced that the objective of doubling the state’s GSDP has been achieved. To date, Memoranda of Understanding totaling over Rs 3.56 lakh crore have been executed through the Global Investors Summit, with more than Rs 1 lakh crore having been invested on the ground.
Regarding the inquiry on corruption, he referenced the government’s policy of zero tolerance.
Regarding women empowerment, the Chief Minister stated that the maternal strength of Uttarakhand is serving as a model for the entire nation in the areas of local products and self-employment. He stated that the government is continually striving to enhance women’s entrepreneurship.
New Policy on Social Media and the Responsibilities of Content Creators
The Chief Minister announced that the Uttarakhand government’s new social media policy will be enacted by next year. The policy seeks to facilitate comprehensive promotion of government initiatives and enhance opportunities for creators. He urged the creators to collaborate in advancing tourism, culture, and local products of Uttarakhand. He stated that increased awareness among creators can contribute to making governance more perceptive.
