Bihar CM Nitish Kumar reviews the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane Ganga Bridge project, urging speedy completion to boost connectivity and development.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday reviewed the progress of the second phase of the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane Ganga Bridge project, extending from the Hajipur-Mahanar route to Chaksindar.
Road connectivity to Raghopur restored following the inaugural ceremony of the first phase

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar stated during the inspection that following the inauguration of the first phase of the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane Ganga bridge project, the property from Patna to Raghopur has been reinstated. He stated that he has been consistently monitoring the progress of the construction work on this project and has been instructing the officers to expedite its completion.

The Chief Minister issued directives to the officers.

The Chief Minister instructed the officials to accelerate the conclusion of the remaining works on the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur 6-Lane Ganga Bridge project. Concurrently, finalize the construction of the access pathway to ensure unobstructed and seamless movement.

New bridges for agriculture, industry, and commerce will accelerate development

Nitish Kumar stated that with the conclusion of the Kachchi Dargah-Bidupur six-lane Ganga bridge project, residents of the region will benefit from continuous road connectivity to the capital, Patna. The sector will continue to expand swiftly across various industries, including agriculture and manufacturing. Patients will also have the option to access treatment in Patna in the event of emergency or incidental injury. He stated that the traffic load on Mahatma Gandhi Setu will also decrease, providing an alternative route for the workers of North Bihar and South Bihar, thereby facilitating smoother movement. With the completion of this bridge, individuals will be able to conveniently travel to various locations in North Bihar outside of Patna city. He stated that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is consistently promoting the development of high-quality roads and structures within the state.

The total cost of the undertaking amounts to four thousand nine hundred eighty-eight crore rupees.

The recently completed Pathamsh from Kachchi Dargah (Patna) to Raghopur Diyara (Vaishali) was inaugurated by the Chief Minister on 23 June 2025. A total of 19.76 units on the River Ganga between Bidupur, situated on National Highway No. 103 under National Highway No. 30 in Patna District, and Kachchi Dargah, located in Vaishali District. Mr. The six-lane Green Field Bridge project of specified length is currently under construction. Under this, it weighs 9.76 kg. The bridge spans 10 km in length. Long-distance pathways are to be established. The total expenditure of this project amounts to four thousand nine hundred eighty-eight crore rupees.

In the initial phase, the Kachchi Dargah from Patna to Raghopur Diyara, Vaishali, with a total length of 4.57 kilometers, has been inaugurated. In the second phase, the Hajipur – Mahnar Path (N. H-122B to Chucksinder (N. H-322)) is under construction, and in the third phase, the segment from Raghopur Diyara to Hajipur – Mahnar Path (H. H-122B) is being developed. To date, the project is approximately 85 percent complete, with the remaining tasks being executed swiftly.
