Yogi Government Solar Policy 2022 powers UP with 1003 MW capacity, 2.9 lakh rooftops, major bill savings, and 50,000 new jobs across rural and urban regions.
Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh is experiencing an energy revolution under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s leadership, facilitated by the Solar Energy Policy 2022 (Saur Urja Neeti). With a total solar energy capacity of 1003.64 MW, the state is predicted to save an average of 40 to 60 percent on electricity bills annually. This savings will benefit everyone, from rural customers to huge companies. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clarified that all of the state’s major cities would be constructed as Solar Cities within the next 22 years as part of the “Viksit UP 2047” program. According to experts in the solar energy industry, these savings will both greatly lessen the strain of power use and enhance the state’s economy over time.
About 50,000 young people have found direct employment as technicians, installers, and service personnel as solar energy has spread throughout the state. Towns and villages now have access to work possibilities, which has improved local economies and had a favorable effect on migration. Additionally, semi-urban and rural areas are experiencing less load shedding. Small enterprises like mills, welding shops, and processing facilities used to be affected by power outages, but now days their profits have increased by 10 to 15 percent. Rural development is increasingly being fueled by solar energy.

On the ground, this solar-powered change is now a tangible reality rather than a sci-fi dream. Energy strategy has been in line with both economic development and public welfare under the Yogi Adityanath administration.
