CM Yogi Adityanath announces renaming of a Uttar Pradesh city, highlighting its historical and spiritual significance, boosting heritage and tourism.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Ghaziabad as part of a ceremony to place the statue of Lord Parsvnath and open the temple. Even though Lord Mahavir was born in Vaishali, CM Yogi said that he attained Maha Parinirvana in Pavagarh, Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh. I am pleased to announce that our administration has adopted the name of Fazil Nagar, where Lord Mahavir had given it the name Mahaparinirvana, and we have started the process of making it a pawa city.

The fact that Lord Rishabhdev, the first Jain Tirthankar in Uttar Pradesh, and four other revered Jain Tirthankars in Ayodhya were born in the same city is a blessing for Uttar Pradesh. Four Jain Tirthankaras have reportedly descended to Kashi, the world’s “spiritual city.” I got the chance to visit Shravasti recently. On the same Shravasti’s territory, Lord Sambhavnath Ji, a Jain Tirthankara, was born.
