CM Yogi Adityanath’s policies turn Uttar Pradesh into a start-up and IT hub, attracting global investments and generating thousands of jobs.

Lucknow: The influence of  CM Yogi Adityanath’s strategic leadership and policy formulation is clearly reflected in the swift progress of the start-up, information technology, and data center industries. In recent years, Uttar Pradesh has achieved remarkable advancements in digital innovation, establishing itself as a premier ‘digital destination’ within the country.

Investments from international IT corporations such as Infosys, Adobe, IBM, and Teleperformance are not only fostering economic development within the state but also generating millions of employment opportunities.

In accordance with CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision, Uttar Pradesh is being transformed into a center for start-ups, the information technology sector, and data processing. A substantial enhancement in the financial incentives offered by the state government for start-up development represents the most prominent example of this transformation.

Although only Rs. 274 lakh was allocated for start-up promotion in 2021-22, this amount rose to Rs. 866 lakh in 2022-23 and further increased to Rs. 1,326 lakh in 2023-24.

Furthermore, Rs. 2,600 crore has already been allocated as start-up promotion funds in 2025. This persistent growth in start-up promotion distinctly reflects CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision to consistently enhance the start-up ecosystem within the state.

Under CM Yogi Adityanath’s IT and ITES policy, Uttar Pradesh has achieved notable progress in attracting investments and creating employment opportunities. At the start of 2025, two Letters of Commitment (LOCs) facilitated an investment of ₹28.34 crore and the generation of 1,600 new employment opportunities. Subsequently, three significant proposals submitted after September 2025 have resulted in an investment of ₹868 crore and the creation of approximately 7,800 employment.

Global information technology corporations such as Infosys, Adobe, IBM, and Teleperformance are channeling investments into Uttar Pradesh, positioning it as a premier national center for IT and technological development.

Through the Data Centre Policy – 2021, the vision of the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has attained a significant milestone in the development of digital infrastructure. As a consequence of this policy, investment proposals have been submitted by NIDP (₹9,134 crore), NTT Global Data Centre (₹1,687 crore), Adani Enterprises (two separate projects amounting to ₹2,416 crore and ₹2,713 crore), and ST Telemedia Global Data Centre (₹2,130 crore).

These initiatives are being executed swiftly. The substantial investments in sectors such as startup promotion, information technology expansion, and data centers under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demonstrate that Uttar Pradesh has transformed its former reputation as a ‘BIMARU state’ and has established itself as ‘Brand UP,’ aligning with the nation’s premier industrial and digital economies.
