Rajasthan govt orders school students to read newspaper daily to boost language skills, awareness, and exam preparation.
The government of Rajasthan has started a program that requires government schoolchildren to read the newspaper every day. The kids’ linguistic skills, reading habits, and comprehension of current events will all be enhanced by this.
Each higher secondary school is required to order a minimum of two newspapers, one in Hindi and one in English. The pupils will also study five new terms each day along with their definitions in order to broaden their knowledge.
According to the regulation, it is the duty of students in classes six through twelve to read the main editorials and news articles.

In order to prepare, students who are designated to read the news must arrive thirty minutes early. Additionally, the directive states that large assemblies would be staged to debate government actions on “No Bag Day.”
This program “will enhance students’ interest in news, broaden their general knowledge, and enhance their language and expression abilities, as well as their social awareness and aid in their preparation for competitive examinations,” according to Education Department officials. This phase is a significant endeavor to help pupils become conscious, considerate, and self-assured citizens. According to Kunal, the program would also assist students in forming a reading habit.
