Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma completes 2 years, enforces zero-tolerance corruption policy; Congress sees Gehlot-Pilot transition; Jaipur police fall ill after halwa.
The political turbulence in Rajasthan indicates no indication of subsiding. Two years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah astonished many by appointing Bhajanlal Sharma —a relatively obscure BJP operative and first-time MLA—as the Chief Minister. As his administration approaches its second anniversary, Sharma has intensified efforts to portray himself as a “Chief Minister of the common people.” His recent inspection of the Rajasthan Sampark control room, during which he engaged directly with citizens, has generated considerable attention. Additionally, his endorsement of investigations into senior officials regarding Jal Jeevan Mission irregularities is perceived as an attempt to demonstrate a firm \u2018zero-tolerance policy on corruption\u2019.
Is Rajasthan Congress on the verge of another confrontation between Gehlot and Pilot?
The Rajasthan branch of the Congress party is undergoing a significant transition. State Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra has fulfilled his five-year term. Preparations are underway for the appointment of a new state chief, and speculation is widespread regarding whether Congress General Secretary Sachin Pilot’s highly anticipated return to Raj politics will now come to fruition. This has likewise reignited inquiries regarding the future of Pilot’s formidable rival, Ashok Gehlot. Will Rajasthan experience another confrontation between Gehlot and Pilot? Will Will Gehlot assume an organizational position in Delhi? The pilot’s reappointment as the state PCC President is broadly anticipated. Furthermore, Harish Chaudhary and C.P. Joshi are also contenders.

Approximately a dozen police officers in Jaipur became unwell after consuming carrot halwa. The police personnel reported experiencing abdominal pain and vomiting following the consumption of the halwa and were subsequently admitted to various hospitals throughout the city. The carrot halwa was reportedly procured from Shankar Misthan Bhandar, while the samosas were obtained from Sodhani Sweets. Following the incident, a team headed by Jaipur CMHO Dr. Ravi Shekhawat conducted inspections of both establishments on Tonk Road.
