Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the first Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas in Jaipur, announcing ₹1 Lakh Crore investments and new diaspora policies.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma inaugurated the inaugural ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Diwas‘ in Jaipur on Wednesday, honoring a commitment made last year to commemorate the diaspora annually on December 10. The event, hosted at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC), saw the participation of non-resident Rajasthanis from various regions of India and abroad.
Addressing the assembly, CM Sharma conveyed his appreciation to the community for enhancing the state’s international reputation. He observed that although community members may live in various parts of the globe, their hearts remain committed to Rajasthan.
Significant Investments and Policy Announcements
The event represents a notable economic milestone for the territory. According to officials, the program accelerates the initiation of investment proposals valued at ₹1 lakh crore. This increase brings the total implemented investments from the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit to ₹98 lakh crore, out of the total signed agreements valued at ₹35 lakh crore.
The state government is also leveraging this platform to introduce over 10 new policies designed to enhance investment and governance. Prominent among these is the new Pravasi Rajasthani Policy, formulated specifically to engage and support the diaspora community.

The event has attracted more than 8,700 registered participants. Esteemed dignitaries present include Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagde, Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, and Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal. Numerous state ministers and public representatives are likewise in attendance.
Corporate leadership maintains a prominent presence at the summit. Prominent industry leaders, including Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal and Tata Power CEO and Managing Director Praveer Sinha, are taking part in the proceedings.

The administration will also bestow the ‘Pravasi Rajasthani Samman’ upon individuals who have demonstrated exemplary contributions in their respective disciplines.
The festivities will culminate in the evening with a cultural program highlighting the vibrant heritage of Rajasthan.
