Trident Group announces ₹2,000 crore investment in Punjab, focusing on textiles, paper modernization, and skill development for 2,000 rural women under Kejriwal-Mann leadership.
Under the visionary leadership of National Convenor of AAP Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora announced that Trident Group, which has a market cap of 18 Thousand Crores and a turnover of 10,000 Crores, is going to invest Rs. 2,000 Crore in Punjab. The goal of this investment is to create an industrial ecosystem that is robust, responsive, and forward-looking. He disclosed that a total of Rs. 1500 crore will be invested in Barnala for the purpose of increasing the production of Terry Towels and modernizing the paper manufacturing process. Additionally, Rs. 500 crore will be invested in Mohali for the establishment of a corporate headquarters and a capacity building center. The majority of the beneficiaries of this investment will be two thousand rural women with a semi-skilled workforce.
The Punjab government’s progressive policy initiatives and ease of doing business reforms are making the state the most desirable location for investors, he stated while addressing the news conference. “We are going to expand Yarn Business and augment our existing textile capabilities in order to cater to increasing domestic and export demand,” stated Rajinder Gupta, Chairman of Trident Group and Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha’s Rajya Sabha. Creating a corporate headquarters in Mohali that is equipped with cutting-edge technology in order to make business operations easier and to attract talented individuals, he stated.
