Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared key statistics highlighting the success of the Mann government in enhancing groundwater management in Punjab. Investments in Infrastructure and Relief Works
Over the past four years, the Mann government has invested ₹477 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund across 195 projects aimed at improving water availability and reducing groundwater depletion. These projects included cleaning and maintaining 3,700 kilometers of drainage canals using 15 newly acquired chain-mounted machines, ensuring optimal flow of water to farmland.

“By restoring canals and providing timely water supply to fields, we have effectively reduced the rate of groundwater extraction in multiple areas,” stated CM Bhagwant Mann.
