Punjab Government forms committee to draft investment-friendly real estate policy.

Punjab government forms committee to draft investment-friendly real estate policy, promoting transparency, ease of doing business, and sustainable sector growth.

Chandigarh: To encourage organized interaction between the government and the real estate policy sector, the Punjab government established a committee dedicated to the sector to create a tailored reform roadmap.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development established the group to offer policy recommendations for a forward-thinking, open, and investment-friendly Punjabi real estate market.

The effort aims to develop a best-in-class policy model by actively collaborating with prominent real estate sector stakeholders, Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Sh. Hardeep Singh Mundian disclosed.

In Punjab’s housing and urban development scenario, the Cabinet Minister stated that the government led by Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann is dedicated to creating an atmosphere that is favorable for sustainable growth, ease of doing business, and investor confidence.

He disclosed that the chairperson of the committee is Sh. Deepak Garg, director of Marbella Group, and the vice-chairman is Sh. Rupinder Singh Chawla, MD of CEE ENN Promoters and Developers Pvt. Ltd. Members include: Sh. Rupinder Singh Gill (MD, Gillsons Construction Ltd); Sh. Rohit Sharma (Executive Director, DLF Group); Sh. K.K. Sharma Kuku (Director, SG Group); Sh. Mohinder Goel (Chairman, Affinity Group); Sh. Varun Dham (Director, KLV Builders); Sh. Sukhdev Singh (Director, AGI Group); Sh. Pardeep Kumar Bansal (Director, HLP Group); S. Baljeet Singh (Director, Jubilee Group); and Sh. Deepak Makhija (Business Head Punjab, EMAAR Group).

According to the Cabinet Minister, this committee’s primary responsibility is to give the government well-organized and useful policy recommendations that are specific to Punjab’s real estate market while taking the state’s structural and financial framework into consideration. The group will research other states’ best practices and policy frameworks and formulate suggestions that complement Punjab’s developmental aspirations. Within six weeks of the notification being sent, the committee will turn in its written recommendations.

The Member Secretary will organize meetings and keep the minutes of the committee’s activities in addition to providing the necessary support.

The creation of this committee, according to S. Hardeep Singh Mundian, is a proactive move to improve accountability, transparency, and investor-friendly reforms in the real estate industry.
