CM Yogi orders strict vigilance and a special drive during Diwali, urging action against anti-social elements to maintain law and order.

Lucknow: During a video conference , Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi reviewed the state’s law and order situation as well as the festivals’ preparations. This year, he gave authorities instructions to spread the spirit of “Swadeshi Diwali,” stressing that all purchases made during the holiday season should be of domestic goods.

The CM gave district administrations and top officials instructions to maintain close watch throughout the festival season. According to CM Yogi, who announced a particular effort to uphold law and order, anti-social groups should face harsh punishment.

He emphasised that events like Ayodhya’s Deepotsav and Kashi’s Dev Deepawali have become national symbols. Since thousands of tourists and devotees will be there, traffic, security, and administration must be given top importance. He emphasized the need for these holy times to continue unbroken.

CM Yogi strict stance against antisocial elements

Anti-social groups might attempt to ruin the joyous occasion, CM Yogi cautioned. Police forces should continue to be on high alert, and intelligence units should continue to operate. Disturbances to peace and harmony should be met with a zero-tolerance stance.

In ponds, idol immersion will take place.

To protect river sanctity, the CM directed that idol immersion on Diwali be done in ponds instead of rivers. Firecracker shops and storage must be located away from populated areas, with proper licensing and NOC issued on time. Fire tenders should be deployed where fireworks are sold and environmentally harmful firecrackers must be strictly banned.

CM Yogi Adityanath  instructions on food safety

He also laid emphasis on food safety and instructed FSDA and district administrations to intensify checks on milk, khoya, sweets and other items while ensuring no harassment of traders. He said offenders must face immediate action.

UP CM stresses on strict social media monitoring

The CM also stressed monitoring social media for provocative content and urged heightened alertness after Friday prayers. Security and dignity of women remain top priority.

Swadeshi fairs will be organized in every district from October 10 to promote indigenous products. Cleanliness drives, uninterrupted power supply, and decorative lighting in towns and cities were also directed to enhance the festive atmosphere.
