Punjab govt launches ₹97.54 crore mission to modernize 26 industrial zones, boosting connectivity, efficiency, and driving local steel demand.

In order to improve connectivity, operational efficiency, and the general business climate, the Punjab govt has started an ambitious project to update the infrastructure throughout its industrial zones. With an estimated Rs 97.54 crore invested in 26 industrial focal sites, the project aims to develop important industrial hubs such as Ludhiana, Khanna, and Mohali. Roads, street lighting, signage, sewerage systems, and other vital utilities will all be improved with the help of these money.

The state’s commitment to promoting a contemporary and competitive industrial ecosystem is further demonstrated by the additional Rs 134.44 crore set aside for more extensive renovations throughout larger industrial zones. The growth of industrial regions is anticipated to have a major impact on local steel demand, even though the objective does not directly involve steel production. Because steel is used extensively in industrial sheds, utility buildings, storage facilities, and other infrastructure components, these improvements may open up new markets for steel consumption in the area.
