Chandigarh: Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has made serious allegations claiming that attempts are being made to create unrest in non-BJP ruled states through criminal networks, specifically naming the Lawrence Bishnoi gang in his statement.

According to a post shared on the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab’s official X handle, Cheema alleged that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has taken responsibility for the recent firing incident at the residence of singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager. He further claimed that such incidents reflect a larger conspiracy aimed at disturbing law and order in opposition-ruled states.

Cheema also alleged that the singer is currently receiving security protection provided by the central government while being lodged in a jail in Gujarat, and questioned the handling of such security arrangements.

He further stated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is allegedly using the Bishnoi gang to target prominent personalities and create instability in states not governed by the party. The minister described these alleged activities as a “conspiracy” to weaken law and order systems and demanded that such actions be stopped immediately.
