Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains has taken strict action following a surprise inspection at a Government Primary School in Machhiwara, where he identified serious lapses in school management and academic standards. During the visit, he found students struggling to answer basic questions, prompting immediate corrective measures by the department.
Acting swiftly, the Punjab School Education Department issued show-cause notices to six staff members, including the Block Resource Coordinator (BRC), the Head Teacher, an Associate Teacher, three ETT teachers, and one IEAT teacher. The action reflects the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government’s strong focus on improving learning outcomes under its ongoing “Sikhya Kranti” reforms and its zero-tolerance policy toward negligence in education.

Harjot Bains Warns of Zero Tolerance for Negligence in Schools
Expressing strong displeasure, Harjot Bains stated that even the slightest negligence would not be tolerated, emphasizing that classrooms shape the future of children. He reiterated that education remains a top priority for the Mann Government and assured that strict action would be taken against any dereliction of duty.
