As part of its ongoing anti-corruption campaign across Punjab, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Balveer Singh (Fauzi), a lineman posted at the PSPCL Sub-Divisional Office in Attowal, Hoshiarpur district, for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹5,000.
Punjab Vigilance Bureau Acts on Farmer’s Complaint, Traps PSPCL Lineman in ₹5,000 Bribe Case
According to an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau, the action was taken following a complaint filed by a resident of village Tanuli in Hoshiarpur. The complainant, an agriculturist, had applied for shifting the electricity wire route from his meter to his residence. When he approached the accused lineman regarding the matter, Balveer Singh allegedly demanded ₹5,000 to carry out the work.
The spokesperson further stated that the complainant recorded the conversation in which the accused was heard demanding illegal gratification. After conducting a preliminary verification of the complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap.

During the operation, the accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of ₹5,000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses.
A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the accused at the Vigilance Bureau Police Station in Mohali. Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
