Punjab : Gurmeet Singh Khudian, Punjab’s Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, on Wednesday handed over appointment letters to 13 newly selected Agriculture Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) in a move to strengthen the state’s agricultural framework and grassroots extension services.
Extending his congratulations to the recruits, Gurmeet Singh Khudian urged them to carry out their duties with integrity and dedication, emphasizing their crucial role in connecting government policies with farmers in the field. He described them as an important bridge between progressive government initiatives and Punjab’s agricultural community. The Minister noted that their commitment and work ethic would directly influence the prosperity of the state’s agriculture sector and the welfare of the nation’s ‘Annadata’.

Highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen manpower in the Agriculture Department, Gurmeet Singh Khudian stated that since the formation of the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government, a total of 133 Agriculture Sub-Inspectors and 200 Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) have been recruited. He said these appointments have infused new energy into the department and improved its ability to serve farmers efficiently.

Gurmeet Singh Khudian Highlights Transparent Hiring and Youth Employment Push
The Minister Gurmeet Singh Khudian further informed that the state government has so far provided 63,943 government jobs to youth across various departments. He added that this large-scale recruitment drive has filled long-pending vacancies while ensuring transparent and effective delivery of public services.
Secretary Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Arshdeep Thind, Director Agriculture Gurjit Singh Brar and other senior officials were also present during the appointment ceremony.
