Punjab : Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday presided over a high-level review meeting to assess preparations for the upcoming Progressive Punjab Investment Summit, scheduled to take place from March 13 to 15 in Mohali. He described the event as a significant milestone aimed at boosting industrial growth and positioning Punjab as a leading global investment hub.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the summit would serve as a catalyst for accelerating industrial development in the state, which he noted has already gained recognition as an attractive investment destination. He expressed confidence that the mega event would play a transformative role in strengthening Punjab’s economy through large-scale industrial expansion.

Bhagwant Mann emphasized that detailed discussions with international industrial leaders during the summit would help formulate a comprehensive pro-industry action plan. He lauded the entrepreneurial spirit of Punjabis, stating that their determination and hard work have enabled them to excel worldwide.

The summit will be organised under the theme “Punjab Means Business – Policy to Practice.” The Chief Minister highlighted that the government has conducted roadshows in major Indian cities such as Gurugram, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai, along with international outreach in countries including Japan and South Korea to attract investors. The event will feature inaugural and valedictory sessions, country-specific meetings, plenary discussions and sector-focused sessions.

Calling the summit a major opportunity for investors, Mann said it would showcase Punjab’s investment potential and competitive incentives. He added that the event has received an overwhelming response from both domestic and international companies. Stressing the need for economic diversification, he remarked that as agriculture has reached a saturation point, rapid industrialisation is essential to revive the state’s economy.

CM Bhagwant Mann’s Pro-Industry Push Attracts ₹1.50 Lakh Crore Investments

The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that the government has undertaken significant reforms to make Punjab the most preferred investment destination. So far, investment proposals worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore have been secured, which are expected to generate around 5.20 lakh employment opportunities for the youth. He noted that leading firms such as Tata Steel and Sanatan Textiles are among those showing strong interest in investing in the state.

Highlighting policy reforms, Bhagwant Mann mentioned the introduction of green stamp paper for sale deed registration to streamline and expedite regulatory clearances for industrial projects. He asserted that Punjab offers a favorable industrial climate supported by a skilled workforce capable of meeting industry demands. He also underscored the importance of energy security, stating that the government has worked to make Punjab power-surplus to support industrial growth.

The Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said prominent industrial leaders from India and abroad are expected to attend the summit and finalize investment plans. He reviewed arrangements with senior officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the event. Along with exhibitions and seminars, the summit will also focus on emerging technologies and innovative industrial strategies.

Earlier, CM Mann unveiled the official logo of the summit. Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora, Chief Secretary KAP Sinha and other senior officers were present at the meeting.
