Chandigarh, Punjab – Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday showcased the achievements of his government in fighting drug abuse and trafficking, marking four years of the Drugs Crackdown in Punjab since March 16, 2022.
Addressing the media, CM Mann shared detailed statistics to highlight the impact of the government’s strict policies against drug traffickers and repeat offenders. “We have implemented a zero-tolerance policy against drugs. The results clearly show the success of the Drugs Crackdown in Punjab,” he said.
According to official data:
- 95,881 drug suppliers and traffickers arrested since March 16, 2022
- 71,228 FIRs registered under NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act)
- 10,085 major drug traffickers apprehended
- 3,440 absconding NDPS case accused arrested

Seizures and asset confiscation also showed major results:
- 6,109 large consignments of drugs seized
- 5,625 kilograms of heroin confiscated
- ₹54.47 crore worth of drug money recovered
- ₹772 crore in assets of 1,556 drug traffickers seized
CM Mann emphasized that the Drugs Crackdown in Punjab targets not only arrests but also the financial networks of traffickers, ensuring a strong deterrent for repeat offenders.
“The persistent efforts of our law enforcement under the Drugs Crackdown in Punjab are aimed at making the state free from the menace of drugs, protecting our youth and communities,” said CM Mann.
