Chandigarh:  Punjab has made history by becoming the first Indian state to establish a Drone Surveillance System in Punjab entirely at its own expense. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann shared key updates during a press conference regarding ongoing anti-gangster operations and the state’s enhanced security measures.

The Chief Minister revealed that the Gangster Prevention Task Force (GPTF) has made significant strides in maintaining law and order:

  • 2,858 gangsters have been arrested so far.
  • 1,105 gangster gangs have been dismantled.
  • 2,267 illegal weapons have been seized.
  • 655 vehicles involved in criminal activities have been confiscated.
  • At the state border, 1,472 drone activities were monitored, and 806 drones were intercepted.

“The implementation of the Drone Surveillance System in Punjab is a major step toward strengthening our borders and monitoring illegal activities in real time,” Mann said. “This system not only helps track gangsters and their operations but also enhances the overall safety and security of our citizens.”

Officials highlighted that the Drone Surveillance System in Punjab allows seamless monitoring of both urban and rural areas, ensuring timely action against criminal elements. With advanced technology integrated into law enforcement, Punjab sets a benchmark for other states to modernize their crime prevention strategies.
