DGP Gaurav Yadav emphasized that public participation is crucial to the campaign’s success. Citizens can anonymously report information about wanted criminals, gangsters, or other criminal activities through the Anti-Gangster Helpline (93946-93946). Informants providing credible information that leads to the arrest of gangsters are eligible for a cash reward of up to ₹10 lakh, with complete confidentiality assured.
Simultaneously, the Punjab Police continued its anti-drug campaign ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’, which entered its 334th day. On Thursday alone, police teams apprehended 104 drug traffickers, seizing 43.6 kg heroin, 7 kg opium, 13 kg ganja, 369 intoxicant tablets/capsules, and ₹8,570 in cash. So far, the campaign has led to the arrest of 46,970 drug smugglers, demonstrating the scale and intensity of the initiative.
Alongside enforcement, Punjab Police are also focusing on rehabilitation and de-addiction, motivating 39 individuals on Thursday to undergo treatment.
These twin campaigns against gangsters and drug networks reflect the Punjab Police’s commitment to restoring peace, strengthening law and order, and safeguarding the future of the state’s youth.
