AAP’s Baltej Pannu questions Sunil Jakhar’s claim that Congress sold the CM chair for ₹350 crore, raising concerns over silence during his tenure as Punjab Congress chief.

Baltej Pannu, the general secretary of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, attacked BJP leader and former president of the Punjab Congress Sunil Jakhar. Pannu questioned Jakhar’s current assertion that the Congress Chief Minister’s chair was sold for ₹350 crore, given that he was the state president of the Congress at the time and had remained mute.

Navjot Kaur Sidhu claimed yesterday that they don’t have ₹500 crore to become the CM face, according to Pannu. Sunil Jakhar stated today that the CM’s seat in Congress was auctioned for ₹350 crore.

Jakhar is now saying that he “heard it from somewhere,” but he has yet to clarify that he was the president of Congress at the time, Pannu remarked in jest. He was aware that the chair was sold for ₹350 crore, thus he didn’t need to rely on rumors. He is speaking so confidently because of this.

Pannu made direct inquiries: As the president of the Congress state, was Jakhar aware of all of this? Is this the reason he was never appointed chief minister, given that the chair was then valued at ₹350 crore? Has the rate now risen to ₹500 crore, as Navjot Kaur Sidhu has alleged, because of inflation?

The AAP leader warned that selling the chief minister’s chair for ₹350 crore or ₹500 crore creates the groundwork for widespread corruption. He claimed that if Punjabis continue to trust the Congress, a candidate who spends ₹500 crore to become chief minister will subsequently add countless more zeros to the recovery.
