CM Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurates Shri Mahakal Mahotsav in Ujjain, highlighting spirituality, culture, religious tourism, and development projects.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the Shri Mahakal Mahotsav has made Ujjain’s natural beauty seem like something from paradise. He observed that the Avantika portrayed in Kalidasa’s literary works is similar to today’s Ujjain. The city of Avantika has represented justice and superior administration from the time of Samrat Vikramaditya and Raja Bhoj. Sculptures and wall paintings at Shri Mahakal Lok brilliantly portray the lives, inspirational tales, and significant achievements of Samrat Vikramaditya, Raja Bhoj, and other notable Avantika characters. The city of Shri Mahakal, Ujjain, is the city of time itself, according to the chief minister. Every breath we take is supported by Shri Mahakal’s grace, and this inspiration commits human life to serving humanity. According to him, Madhya Pradesh has developed a new brand for itself and achieved impressive strides in the area of religious tourism. Through the Shri Mahakal Mahotsav, devotees can engage with spirituality, faith, and the state’s rich cultural traditions. Devotees will gain a greater understanding of Ujjain and the blessings of Baba Mahakal via this event.

On the holy night of Makar Sankranti, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conducted ceremonies and formally opened the Shri Mahakal Mahotsav. Thousands of worshippers were present, along with District In-charge Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Balyogi Umesh Nath Ji Maharaj, MLAs Shri Anil Jain Kaluheda, Shri Satya Narayan Jatiya, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, Shri Rajesh Dhakad, Shri Ravi Solanki, Shri Naresh Sharma, Shri Ram Tiwari, and Shri Roop Pamnani.

Dr. Yadav, the chief minister, stated that in order to provide devotees with more ease, the state’s two Jyotirlingas are being connected by improved train, air, and road systems. Along with the Shakti Peeth Maa Garh Kalika, Ujjain is also the location of a Gurudwara on the banks of the Shipra River, which was visited by Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who made reference to Ujjain in his lyrics. He underlined how really distinctive Ujjain’s peace and variety are. “Sawan Mahotsav in Ujjain was started after 2003, and now fairs and festivals are organized continuously from Mahashivratri to Gudi Padwa,” he said. Tourists are being introduced to history and culture through these many events and fairs, and the state is reaping numerous benefits. According to Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the government is providing tax breaks on automobiles at trade shows in Gwalior and Ujjain. Along with Bhopal, a five-day Van Mela will now be held in Ujjain in Dussehra Maidan, further solidifying this custom and allowing locals to buy a variety of forest items.

Speaking about music, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav stated that the Damaru is regarded as the original musical instrument in the extensive Indian musical legacy, with subsequent instruments developing from it. He called Shankar Mahadevan’s lecture on Damaru “extraordinary.” In addition to a number of other existing development projects, he indicated that the Indore–Ujjain six-lane road, the six-laning of the Harifatak Bridge, and a sports complex are among the key development projects that will soon be delivered to the Ujjain district. Additionally, he stated that the district will have a Rahgiri Anand Utsav on January 25.

The new official Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple website, www.shrimahakaleshwar.mp.gov.in, was introduced by Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. Additionally, he opened the ₹600-crore Shri Mahakaleshwar Bhakt Niwas project’s donation page at www.shrimahakaleshwar.mp.gov.in/bhaktniwas.
