20-Year-Old Dalit Woman Gang-Raped in Madhya Pradesh; Fiancé Assaulted, Three Arrested
A 20-year-old Dalit Woman was allegedly gang-raped in Sidhi district while her Fiancé was brutally beaten and driven away by the attackers. The incident happened near a forested area in Churhat where the couple had stopped after visiting a temple. Police informed the assault lasted nearly 2 hours before the woman managed to escape
According to officials, four men were reportedly involved in the attack. Three accused- Lole Yadav (21), Krishna Murari Rawat (31), and Vikas Rawat (27)- were arrested while the fourth, named Dhiresh Vishwakarma (27), remains on the run. Five special police teams have been formed to search for the absconding accused. The woman and her fiancé were taken to a hospital for treatment after the attack.
Police said the suspects first attacked the man, forcing him away from the scene, before targeting the woman, A case had been registered under relevant sections. Authorities are searching for nearby villages and keeping all the checkpoints under survillance to grab the remaining accused.
The incident has triggered outrage in the area with locals demanding swift justice and stronger security for woman. Senior officers present have assured a fast-tracked investigation and strict action against all proven to be guilty.
