Minister Shyam Singh Rana to Inaugurate Kurukshetra Pashu Mela 2026, Showcasing 1,500 Superior Breed Animals and ₹50 Lakh Prizes

Haryana:  Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry and Dairying Minister, Shyam Singh Rana, announced that the latest technologies in animal husbandry will be showcased at the upcoming ‘Pashu Mela’ and exhibition in Kurukshetra from February 6 to 8. The state government is actively promoting scientific livestock rearing and superior breeds to help farmers increase income while reducing costs.

Around 1,500 high-quality animals will participate in the 41st State-Level Livestock Exhibition, competing across 53 categories, with prize money totaling approximately ₹50 lakh for the best animals. The event is expected to attract nearly 1 lakh livestock farmers, entrepreneurs, and scientists from across Haryana. To facilitate visitors, 200 free buses per day will transport participants to and from the fair, and free meals will also be provided.

Various government departments will set up stalls to promote welfare schemes, while private companies will display products and technologies related to animal husbandry. A unique ramp show featuring superior breed animals is also planned to engage visitors.

The ‘Pashu Mela’ will be inaugurated by Shyam Singh Rana on February 6. Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), will attend as Chief Guest on February 7, and CM Nayab Singh Saini will preside over the closing ceremony on February 8, honoring the winning farmers. Cultural programs featuring local artists like Mahavir Guddu and Azad Khanda will also entertain attendees throughout the event.
