Haryana ensures smooth paddy procurement with MSP payments of Rs 9,029 crore, supporting Haryana farmers through mandis and direct bank transfers.

Haryana farmers received a total of Rs 9,029.39 crore in direct bank transfers thus far during the Kharif procurement season 2025–26. As a result, farmers are now guaranteed to get their Minimum Support Price (MSP) on schedule.

The state government is making sure that rice procurement in all authorized grain markets is done smoothly and efficiently while maintaining the interests of farmers as its top priority, according to a spokeswoman for the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Haryana.

He said that institutions involved in food and supply, warehousing, and HAFED are actively acquiring paddy in different areas. The relevant departments have received instructions to make sure farmers don’t experience any problems when selling their produce.

Paddy is bought from farmers who have registered on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” website. Using this approach, 2,52,693 registered farmers have had their purchases fulfilled thus far.

In addition, the spokesperson reported that 49.94 lakh metric tonnes of paddy have reached the mandis throughout the state. Forty-two lakh metric tonnes of paddy have already been removed from the mandis, and 48.44 lakh metric tonnes have been formally purchased.

Interestingly, the state’s paddy procurement is conducted in accordance with the Government of India’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) policy, and farmers get direct bank account payments for the purchased crop.

Farmers have been urged by the government on numerous occasions to send their paddy to the mandis only after correctly drying it and making sure it satisfies the quality requirements set forth by the Indian government, especially the moisture restriction of 17 percent.

The state’s procurement agency have made sufficient preparations to ensure that paddy is purchased and lifted without incident. The MSP of Rs 2,389 per quintal, set by the Indian government, is being paid in full for the purchased paddy. No deductions are being made.

Additionally, according to the department spokeswoman, directives have been issued to maintain adequate amenities in mandis, including electricity, potable water, and restrooms. He urged farmers to bring their thoroughly dried paddy to the marketplaces in order to be fairly and promptly compensated for their produce. District officials have been instructed to conduct routine inspections of the mandis to make sure farmers are not inconvenienced when they sell their produce.

Commission agents at the level of the farmers also clean the paddy that farmers bring to the mandis and procurement centers. Additionally, the government is paying for market labor prices, which include filling, weighing, stitching, and loading tasks performed in procurement centers and mandis.
