Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini inaugurates Ratnawali Mahotsav at Kurukshetra University, showcasing 3,500 young artists in 34 Haryanvi folk art forms.

Approximately 3,500 young artists will compete and demonstrate their talent in 34 art styles.

The state-level Ratnawali Mahotsav, which preserves Haryana’s rich folk culture and artistic traditions, was lavishly inaugurated at Kurukshetra University in Kurukshetra. The Chief Guest for the Mahotsav was Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, who lit the customary lamp to officially begin the festival.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that this Mahotsav highlights Haryana’s historic legacy and provides a colorful insight into rural life. It not only allows kids to improve their skills, but it also instills a strong sense of pride in their cultural identity. He went on to say that Ratnawali Mahotsav is more than just a cultural event; it’s also an exciting opportunity to reconnect with our roots and identity.

During the ceremony, Chief Minister and Heritage & Tourism Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma honored Padma Shri Sant Ram Deshwal and Sh. Anoop Lather for their remarkable contributions to art and culture. The dignitaries also distributed the ‘Ratnawali Times’ magazine, which was produced in the Haryanvi dialect.

In his speech, Saini expressed his happiness at being around such active young people. It is encouraging to see the younger generation remain firmly attached to India’s culture and customs, he stated. He stated that Ratnawali Mahotsav serves as a bridge between the youth and their roots. He described it as a wonderful endeavor to preserve, protect, and pass along our cultural heritage to future generations.

The Chief Minister spoke to Lord Krishna’s message of Karma Yoga, stating that Haryana’s culture is steeped with simplicity, self-respect, and patriotism, and that Ratnawali Mahotsav celebrates these same virtues. The artists who emerge from this platform not only bring pride to the state, but also make the country proud on a global scale, according to the Chief Minister.

Youth should remain connected to education as well as their culture and heritage (CM).

The Chief Minister underlined that youth are the state’s future torchbearers and cultural caretakers. It’s nice to witness their enthusiasm and appreciation for their background. He stated that education transmits information and skills, whereas culture provides us with values and identities.

Saini went on to say that the traditional clothes, folk dances, songs, Haryanvi Saang and Ragini, and even the huts on show here are more than just displays; they are important heritage of our ancestry. He advised the kids to keep involved in both education and their cultural heritage.

The Chief Minister stated that Kurukshetra University is the oldest university in Haryana. Although the state was formed in 1966, the institution was founded in 1956 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, India’s first President. This university has played an important role in Haryana’s educational, economic, and social development, he claims.

According to Saini, Haryana is now a leading state in education, sports, culture, research, and industry, and Kurukshetra University has helped to cement this reputation. He described it as one of India’s leading institutions for education, research, skill development, sports, arts, and culture.

The Chief Minister stated that artists who devote their lives to maintaining Haryana’s historic art and culture are recognized with the ‘Haryana Ratna Award‘. Similarly, those who have made significant contributions to Haryanvi theatre and dance are honored with this renowned award each year, he added.

Ratnawali Mahotsav: The Grand Confluence of Haryanvi Culture.

The Chief Minister stated that the Ratnawali Mahotsav has been held at Kurukshetra University for the past 38 years, playing an important part in Haryana’s cultural journey. This Mahotsav is known as the ‘Maha Kumbh of Haryanvi Culture‘, with over 3,500 young artists demonstrating their talents in 34 distinct folk art forms representing various languages like as Ahir, Bangar, Bagar, Khadar, and Mewati. He congratulated and bestowed his best wishes to all of the youngsters that participated.

Saini stated that every year, new creative initiatives are undertaken to involve the kids. Previous editions featured competitions such as “Pagri Bandhao, Photo Khinchwao” and “Selfie with Haryanvi” to help revive regional traditions. This year’s event included a performance of ‘Loor Nritya’, a virtually extinct Haryana folk dance form, as well as a Haryanvi Fashion Show, which has become a big attraction. Competitions such as ‘Haryana Ki Sangeet Yatra’, ‘Haryana Food Fair’, ‘Haryana Art Fair’, and ‘Sun Gita Ka Gyaan‘ are projected to become distinguishing elements of this Mahotsav in the years ahead.
