NIT Kurukshetra Convocation 2025 saw Governor Ghosh and CM Saini highlight youth innovation, skill growth and India’s Viksit Bharat vision.

NIT Kurukshetra, which is becoming a significant pillar of India’s research and innovation ecosystem, will continue to reach new heights of glory and accomplishment in the years to come, according to Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh. During  20th NIT Kurukshetra Convocation, Governor Prof. Ghosh spoke to young graduates and medal winners. The Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh Nayab Singh Saini, was the Guest of Honor, while the Vice President of India, Sh C.P. Radhakrishnan, was the Chief Guest.

The Haryana government, led by Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini, is steadfastly committed to the larger vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047 through ongoing initiatives in education reform, digital governance, industrial partnerships, and inclusive rural development, Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh said, congratulating the recently graduated students.

The Governor emphasized that during the past few years, NIT Kurukshetra has seen a notable academic transformation. Currently, the institute provides 28 postgraduate degrees and 15 undergraduate programs, including integrated B.Tech–M.Tech programs, four M.Sc., MBA, MCA, and 17 M.Tech programs.

He went on to say that the convocation should be viewed as a chance to promise to apply one’s knowledge with humility, compassion, and a strong sense of duty rather than just as a chance to receive degrees. He said he hoped the graduates would continue to learn throughout their lives and help create a successful, inclusive, and sustainable India that genuinely reflects the One Earth, One Family, One Future principle.

CM Nayab Singh Saini: To create an independent India, youth must drive innovation.

During this event, Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that the best way to deal with the problems of a world that is changing quickly is through innovation. He exhorted the medalists and degree holders to use their expertise to simplify and resolve social issues. He underlined that the youth are essential to achieving Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s goal of an independent India. It is their duty to steer the country in the direction of a developed India. Young people should therefore aim to become job creators, solution suppliers, and innovators in addition to seeking employment.

“A convocation is a significant milestone in the journey of any educational institution,” the Chief Minister stated, congratulating the students who got degrees and medals. He gave the youngsters, their parents, and their teachers his best wishes for a successful future.

He claimed that since its founding in 1963, NIT Kurukshetra has advanced significantly and made a name for itself in the technical education sector both domestically and abroad. He continued by saying that the graduates of this institution are showing their skills all over the world and making Haryana and the country proud.

The Chief Minister spoke to the historical significance of the hallowed territory of Kurukshetra, stating that it is the same area where the highest level of science and technology was observed and where the Mahabharata war is thought to have occurred 5,163 years ago. “No nation in the world has yet attained the level of science and technology associated with the weapons described in that era,” he said.

The Haryana government is continuously adopting proactive measures to improve technical education and skill development, according to the chief minister. He claimed that the state of Haryana had four technical universities today, compared to just one at the time of its founding. He added that while there are currently 198 private technical institutes, there are now 44 government technical institutions, up from 29 before to 2014. Four government polytechnics have developed Centers of Excellence, and four others are in the planning stages.

According to Sh Nayab Singh Saini, the most crucial instrument for realizing Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi’s goal of an independent India is skill development. As a result, Haryana’s educational system is becoming more and more skill-oriented at every level, from elementary to university.

According to the Chief Minister, the Dudhaula, Palwal-based Shri Vishwakarma Skill University has become a leading hub for educating young people in cutting-edge technologies. He continued by saying that in the age of science and technology, Haryana, which was hitherto largely recognized as an agricultural state, is now developing quickly.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were Prof. B.V. Ramana Reddy, Director of NIT Kurukshetra; Dr. Tejaswini Anantha Kumar, Chairperson of the Board of Governors, and others.
