Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini announces 6-month electricity bill deferment for 7.1 lakh flood-affected farmers, with no late fees during the period.

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has established a special program to help farmers who were hurt by high rainfall and floods during the 2025 monsoon season. This plan puts off the payment of energy bills for all agricultural tubewell customers in the state for six months, from July 2025 to December 2025.

The Energy Department said that bills for power sent out in July 2025 will now be due in January 2026. In the same way, the bills for August 2025 will be due in February 2026, and the bills for December 2025 will be due in June 2026. About 7.10 lakh agricultural customers in the state will profit from this decision.

The spokesperson further said that the state government has made it clear that UHBVN and DHBVN will not charge any agricultural tubewell customer a Late Payment Surcharge at this time, and power will keep flowing as usual. The Haryana Government will have to pay for the extra costs that come with this delay.

This choice is meant to help farmers who were hurt by high rains and floods right away so they can get back to farming as soon as possible.
