Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann visits Golden Temple, urges reopening of Kartarpur Corridor, promotes peace, trade, and job growth for Punjab residents.
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann visited the Golden Temple in Amritsar to pay his respects on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. He also asked the government to reopen the Kartarpur Corridor.
Mann, who attended with his wife Gurpreet Kaur, told reporters that he hoped for peace, harmony, and progress in Punjab.

Mann suggested that the Center should reopen the Kartarpur Corridor when asked about it. “Why would they reopen it if someone writes to them?” They should open back up by themselves. Now they also play cricket with them (Pakistan). Devotees even come back 4 to 5 hours after paying their respects at the Kartarpur Sahib. He stated, “So the home ministry and the external affairs ministry should reopen the Kartarpur Corridor.”
“Trade with them (Pakistan) through Gujarat goes on. They are also playing matches with them. He went on to say, “People in both countries want peace.”
The Kartarpur Corridor connects Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, where Guru Nanak Dev, the founder of Sikhism, is buried, to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Gurdaspur district.

After the Pahalgam incident on April 22, India closed its portion of the Kartarpur Corridor because of problems with Pakistan.
When asked about trade starting up again with Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah route, Mann answered, “Definitely, it should start up again.” Thousands of individuals will get jobs. Our business will grow. We have been asking for things from time to time.
