Nayab Singh Saini felicitates Haryana boys’ and girls’ kabaddi teams for winning gold at Asian Youth Games 2025, praising their dedication.

Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini received a delegation of Haryana athletes from the Indian boys’ and girls’ Kabaddi teams, who secured gold medals at the Asian Youth Games 2025 held in Bahrain. The encounter took place at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, in Chandigarh. On this occasion, the Chief Minister congratulated the players and conveyed his best wishes to Captain Ishant Rathee and the other team members, cordially welcoming and felicitating them for their historic accomplishment.

The Chief Minister stated that it was a moment of great joy and delight for him to engage with young athletes who have brought honor to India and Haryana on the international stage. He expressed that this victory is not solely a triumph in a sporting event, but also a testament to Haryana’s rural culture, disciplined perseverance, resilient determination, and the fighting character of its youth.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also commended the contributions of instructors and trainers, stating that although they frequently operate behind the scenes, they are the genuine architects of players’ success. Their meticulous planning, disciplined approach, training techniques, and unwavering dedication have enabled this achievement.

He stated that this triumph would serve as an inspiration to the youth of Haryana. Numerous children in villages who are engaged in play will now regard these athletes as role models and aspire to achieve great things. The progression of these athletes from local village grounds to international stadiums inspires confidence in every young individual that, through dedication and discipline, even the most ambitious ambitions can be achieved.

The Chief Minister stated that the Haryana Government formulated a definitive vision for sports eleven years ago, with the objective of engaging every child in sports, establishing facilities in each village, and offering opportunities to all youth with a passion for sports. The objective of this vision is to establish Haryana as not only the sports center of India but also a premier global sports capital.

He additionally stated that Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi has articulated the objective of transforming India into a sporting superpower by the 2036 Olympic Games and has reaffirmed his commitment to hosting those Games within India. Today, Haryana is broadly recognized as the “nursery of sports,” a distinction that fills the state with pride. He stated that India will also host the Commonwealth Games in 2030 and expressed optimism that Haryana’s athletes will excel there as well.

Sh. Nayab Singh Saini stated that sports nurseries have been set up throughout the state to cultivate talented athletes from a young age. He stated that a dedicated provision will be included in the forthcoming Budget for 2026-27 to promote youth athletes. The Chief Minister also conferred with the family members of these athletes and extended his congratulations to them.

The delegation also comprised Chairman of the Asian Kabbadi Federation, Sh. Gulab Saini, along with Selector and Coach Sh. Deepak Hooda, accompanied by players Harsh Maan (Vice-Captain), Ms. Diksha Rathee, Ms. Komal Saharan, Akash, Subham, Akhil, Kashav, Aditya Hooda, and Aryan.
