India’s First Hydrogen-Powered Train to debut on Jind-Sonipat route in Haryana; 3,000 kg hydrogen plant ready with stable 24×7 power supply.

Haryana will see the debut of India’s first hydrogen-powered train. The ambitious project to connect Jind and Sonipat via Northern Railway is nearing completion. The hydrogen facility at Jind, which will provide fuel for the train during its final commissioning and normal operations, now has a reliable and uninterrupted 11 kV power supply.

Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi had a hybrid meeting with officials from Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) to assess the project. The meeting included extensive discussions of the plant’s present power supply status, backup plans, and future requirements.

The Chief Secretary recommended that frequent inspections of the power supply system be done to avoid any roadblocks to this ambitious undertaking. He underlined the need to strengthen alternative arrangements and swift response procedures.The gathering was informed that India’s largest hydrogen plant, with a storage capacity of 3,000 kilos, has been built in Jind for the hydrogen train project and is now in the final stages of commissioning. Because the facility will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, an uninterrupted and high-quality power source is required.

DHBVN staff told the Chief Secretary that the plant is receiving stable power supply, with additional monitoring and rapid maintenance procedures in place as needed. The Northern Railway expressed pleasure with the plant’s power supply.Vikram Yadav, Managing Director of DHBVN, attended the meeting via video conference, as did Chief Engineer Rajender Sabharwal.
